So sorry you feel this way. Try and do something that lifts your mood. Listen to your favorite music, read a new book, watch your favorite show. Can you write your feelings into a journal? It always helps me. Also meditation or tapping helps. Have you heard of the app tapping solution? It’s really good. I hope you feel better soon . Remember you are not alone. ❤️

When i am habing a bad round of depression, i feel very alone. I havd a few good friends but they have their own lives, like my siblings. I have no husband or significant other. My parents love me very much, but i am down to 1 now. When the other goes i will have no one that will always have time for me and always be willing to help. While this is always the case, it is worse when i am in a funk. I journal, meditate, have a dog, go for a walk, or try to call someone. And sometimes it just takes time. One thing that helps lately is to realize no one has a perfect life, even if it looks like it from outside. I didnt really believe that before, but the longer i live, i believe it more.

When I go through my phases or any negative feelings, I keep it bottled up and sometimes write it down if it's stays in my mind. I'm not good at sharing my personal struggles with anyone and don't like to share it with my friends or families because I feel like it's a burden. And depression is. I can barely deal with it myself as it is but sometimes I'll talk to my counselor about it (depending on the severity of it) and other times, I talk on online forums like this to help me connect with others feeling the same way. It's easier to talk about your issues with someone who isn't close to you personally, to have a non-bias view. If you'd like to talk more, let me know.

Here's one thing that has always worked for me: Go out there and make some friends. Ditch your old friends if you must. There are tons of wonderful people out there who are willing to see you through this. I hope you find them soon. Be well. Xoxo

i hope that tooo 💔💔 with this corona virus its hard to go out and talk to people

Hey Yanshiva, I'm going through the same thing, so, I know exactly how that feels. And I also know how tough it is to believe that everything is going to be okay one day, but you gotta believe it.

I've been through this many times and every time it hurts bad. Once it got so bad that I had to talk to a psychiatrist.

For some time, I was under the impression that something's wrong with me, but when I thought about it with a clear mind a few months later, I realised that the only mistake I made was that I believed that my friends won't leave me. That we were gonna be friends forever. You know, the stuff you see in movies and around you influences you.

But the one thing I learned from my various experiences, is that nothing lasts forever. So, just because you don't have friends today, doesn't mean you won't have any in future and vice versa.

Because humans are social animals, we often feel the need of having someone to talk to, someone to call, but why does that someone need to be a friend. If you're feeling lonely, call up your relatives. I know it sounds weird but trust me, it's not that bad. And it kinda helps. It makes you feel less lonely. If you're a student, try to completely focus on your career goals and give it your 100 percent. Or you could do something you like, you can read books and watch movies. But whatever you do, don't ever think that just because you don't have friends means that something's wrong with you. Cause it's not. There are a lot of people out there who are going through this. And during these tough times, the last thing we want is to lose confidence.

So, hold on, everything's gonna be okay.

Also, I'm right here, feel free to text me anytime.

Hearing other people are feeling the same way is helpful. I feel like I've exhausted the very small handful of friends and family I have and they just don't want to hear it anymore. I go to a therapist as well but I feel like I could use one everyday. Wondering if I shouldn't be on some other type of medication because since Covid has started I can't seem to get out of my funk.

I have a therapist? What is the difference?

thepassionateflower profile image
thepassionateflower in reply topirsuepeace

a psychotherapist is better trained in dealing with the mind, so when it comes to mental health struggles they have learned skill sets to actually treat someone with a mental health struggle! my therapist actually referred me. i researched the difference and google explained it way better than i did
