I was prescribed a very low dose and I’m still unsure if I should take it. I want to be able to get off from it after a few months. Is it possible? Anybody out there able to wean off medication after a few months and can say they continue to feel better and cope after medication has been stopped?
Thank you in advance.

I would say be very careful. I had the same belief system and it did not work, twice I weaned myself off the medication, and twice the depression came back. My Dr. explained to me I need the med's, so I have stayed on them ever since. Sorry to say I built up a tolerance after 10 years and had to switch to Zoloft, same thing happened, and I have played pill roulette for a number of years, and ended up going in hospital 3 times when things did not work. I am now on Cymbalta 50 mg daily and it is keeping me sane, I am 78 and hope this works for the rest of my life, do not want anymore trips into hospital. I also have a wonderful therapist who is a Big help to me. I wish you well, sending love, hugs and peace of mind........
