Newbie sertraline

Hi everyone I’m new here. I just wanted to ask if any of you take sertraline and amitriptyline? I’ve been on a low dose of amitriptyline for a couple of years now for pain. Today I phoned my doctor as I’ve been suffering with really bad health anxiety to the point of having bad panic attacks. I convinced myself that something was wrong with my breathing and heart 🙄 anyway doctor has put me on 50mg of sertraline and of course I’ve read they interact. I think I’m just looking for a bit of reassurance. Tia x

I used to be on sertraline and trileptal. Worked great for me then stopped working. Does not mean it will happen to you. Give it a chance. Also, try not to worry too much because I’m sure your dr wouldn’t put you on meds that react badly with each other without a valid reason. If you are very concerned, you can always call your dr. Otherwise try to breathe, relax and enjoy the day

I started Sertraline in 2018. I'm not taking anything else with it, but it did take me about 6-7 months to find my correct dosage. I seriously felt insane when I started taking it, my anxiety was worse, my depression was worse, I was angry all of the time. Once I found the dose that worked for me it was like the light turned on and I felt "normal". There's hope. It just takes a little bit of trial and error! Hang in there.
