I’ve been exercising for a while and now my heart rate drop tremendously from 64 being at rest to 54 I can’t even sleep 😴 now 🤦🏼‍♂️. I did take some natural pills that shows 2000mg and melatonin 10mg someone please help and thank you in advance

Hi. I think Melatonin 10mg is too high.

1-3 mg is best.

I take 3 mg. quick dissolve.

I have read that Melatonin supplements are unregulated.

What they say is 5 mg. could very well have 10 mg.

What is the other supplement you took?

Check your insurance to see if you have a “Nurse Hotline” number.

What supplement did you take that was 2000 mg? Was this a supplement that contained a proprietary blend totaling 2000 mg? For sleep or anxiety?

Melatonin 10mg is considered a mega dose of melatonin and will lower blood pressure. It will take several hours and linger side effect wise into the next day.

I’m hoping you are sleeping this off now. SongAndSoul is correct, up to 3mg is more than enough any one should ever need of melatonin.

Nothing we advise here can ever take the place of the guidance of your doctor, you should always run the supplements you take with your doctor especially if you are taking medication, have medical problems, etc.

Hi,

Exercise before bed revs up the body systems causing sleeplessness by disrupting your sleep cycles. Some people benefit by avoiding exercise at least 3 hours before bed time.

Some individuals have a naturally low resting heart rate which can drop even lower with exercise as fitness improves. Unless this out of the ordinary for you, this is a good thing.

I would suggest a visit to a doctor to discuss your current health concerns and get advice about sleep hygeine. Don't forget to mention the natural meds taken which do have the power to affect your health. Different people have different reactions, positive or negative. Take the meds with you.
