Hello, for the past year iv been living with depression or anxiety iv never really been diagnosed.& it’s a real struggle to afford therapy being a college student. I feel as if the anxiety and depression has taken over my life. It stared after a bad trip of ecstasy. And I feel as if I haven’t been the same since. Every day it feel like a struggle for me. I over think about everything and have been terrified of death since then. It’s like that is what I’d drilled in my head and never came out. It has consumed me and my thoughts.

Hi there, I know how hard this past year must have been for you. I have suffered too from anxiety for the past year.... coming off medications. I would suggest seeing a doctor and finding homeopathic remedies....but more importantly build networks. Find things to do to take up the negative thoughts. You have a full life ahead of you and the world is a wonderful place.

Does your school have some sort of support group or counseling center you could start with? It is so important to what is going on that you have someone to reach out to? Are your parents involved and can they help? Friends are important too but they usually are not trained counselors and don't always know how to help.

I was thinking the same as CHPA about whether the college you attend has a center where college students can go for help. Are you still on your parents insurance? Usually most insurance carriers let you carry insurance with your parents if you're in college.

Esp now with the covid-19 Pandemic going around and people needing counseling. My depression & anxiety started years ago. I, like you, struggle everyday with anxiety and depression. I am consumed with thoughts of others dying and it doesn't have anything to do with the covid-19 Pandemic.

Hello Jennifer and welcome to this wonderful group of people, all in sort of the same boat. We all need someone to talk to about the struggles of mental health issues, I have daily anxiety and live by the "fake it til you make it" motto. I did start with a psychologist, she was very helpful, but cannot get an appt. with her, so looking for a new one, which gives me anxiety and worry. I am doing this with the mind set that I have to do this not only for myself but my family too! I started walking every morning to feel alive again, get dressed, go outside and walk, breathe, feel the air (even if it is humid) YUK! Said to myself do it for 5 mins, then 10. Now up to 15-20. Day 8 so far.

I hope you can find someone at school that you can talk to about your feelings. We are here for you , many here have given great advice and hope during these tough times.

My story with panic and anxiety also started with a bad drug experience, in my case I then began to use alcohol to numb the anxiety and phobias but unfortunately that only made it worse and worse. So I would say "nip it in the bud" as soon as possible with help, as others have suggested in their posts, but don't self-medicate with alcohol or drugs as it only makes it worse and you're very young and can still turn your life around.

Aside from therapy, exercise and Claire Weekes are the 2 things that have helped me the most.
