Afraid to leave for work.

I’ll put this out here then. I wake up and my first thought after I realize I need to go to work is panic. I work with good people at a boring job that pays the bills. And I’m petrified to leave the house to go. I can go to other places like the market easily. But as soon as I plan on going to work. Bam! Anxiety. It has no reason but there is is. I’m trying everyday to fight it and it’s exhausting. Does anyone else feel this way/ how do you deal with it even if it’s not about work?

Hi. I am exactly the same way. I dont know why specifically. But it's really hard. I try to tell myself, getting up and getting there is the worst part, I'll be fine. And I usually am. But it's good to know it's not just me. Do you have a counselor or psychiatrist?

It’s the same for me. If I can make it and get started it get so much better. And I am currently looking for a psychiatrist. My anxiety has been getting worse lately after 4 years of not being so bad so I’m working toward getting help.

Sorry took so long to respond. I am so glad you are reaching out for help. It goes a long way if you're receptive to it. Anxiety is a b@#$% like that, coming at the oddest and most inopportune moments. Know you are not alone!

I had the same issue. What I did was shifted to a nights only job so now I wake up and have time to adjust and do what I want to do prior to work. Now it’s nights only from home and 4 10s at that. Not saying it’s good for everyone but what made me feel dread and panic was I wasn’t able to accomplish any personal tasks it was always just work home sleep work home sleep. Now it’s sleep me work sleep me work lol if that makes sense. You need to figure out why your feeling that way and what you can do to change it.

I went through a period of that same thing for a time. Just tried to get through it as best I can. Nobody called me out that I was a bit off. It could be it's all in your head, and it's making it much worse than it seems

I do this too! Thankfully once I’m distracted at work the panic usually goes away, but it really sets an awful tone for the morning. Sorry you’re feeling that way! 💙
