Towards the end of last year I've noticed that my breathing has been off. like im not inhaling enough air/oxygen and I'm always needing to take deep breaths in every few minutes.
I know breathing problems is part of anxiety but mine has been going on for so long and its just so annoying. has anyone experienced this as well?

Cut and dry advice but it's great advice. People will soon pay for my advice bc of my career.
Ready? Ok.
It's one of two things: it's either you actually have a physical problem breathing or you dont. It's that simple. What is your answer?
The fear (emotion) ignites the high anxiety feeling. The "I have a problem with breathing" is just a thought. It may not be what is actually going on in your system. Again, it's just a thought. When we attach the fear with thoughts that is when the high anxiety is experienced.
So when u connect a high" fear emotion" of not breathing your brain goes into panic mode- theres so many fear thoughts and the emotional part of our brain goes into overdrive. Why & how the brain goes into overdrive automatically is another story for another day.
That is why mindfulness is so important. It keeps u in the present moment where it's calm; no fear and clear mind. It helps u train your brain to just be aware of thoughts & prevents the attachment to high anxiety.
My mother has emphysema, copd, etc, and GAD. She sometimes think she is having an anxiety attack, when in reality she is not getting oxygen. I bought her a pulse ox to help her tell the difference.
I am the opposite. I have the same sensations as borahae, amd my brain tells me it's a breathing issue, when in fact my o2 consistently reads in the upper 90s range...it is just anxiety tricking my brain.
I try not to let it trick me too much/often.
I find this happens most when my anxiety is triggered by something else...the virus, for instance.
Thank you so much. Everyone has different fears. Anxiety is not the problem.- it's a human emotion. It needs to be settled bc it can lead to a problem which is the overdrive of the limbic system which then results in fight or flight mode.
Hi! thank for your words, i highly appreciated it. i havent been practicing mindlessness in a while so i guess i should start doing that.
the thing is, the problem with my breathing is constant. i ALWAYS feel like theres something off, every single inhale and exhale. its like suddenly walking w a limp. its annoying and a part of how i live now. it doesnt only occur when im highly anxious and it never goes away either.
Yes ..me and especially past hole week .. had this hyperventilation breathing bs a while ...just gets worse some days ..scary cuz my mouth gets dried out from it and then feel like I'm dehydrated
