I haven’t worked since March 17th. I am receiving unemployment which I am very fortunate for that but I’ve completely shut down and I don’t know what to do. I keep having mental breakdowns.

Sorry to hear that the C-19 virus has such a devastating effect on you. I'm pleased that you have been able to disclose your breakdowns. Please see your doctor to discuss your health at this stressful time. I know there are websites for tips on coping with mental health from government and not for profit organisations. Some are specific to answer questions about coping with the C-19 environment. I am in Australia but if you post your location, forum users can give you local info. All the best 🐱

Hi again, please look into finding a primary care provider. The importance of checking in with a health professional cannot be underestimated. You will find a person trained to listen without judgement and confidentiality is assured. You may also require a referral for some therapy.

If the thought of making the first call is overwhelming, I completely understand. I picked up the phone a few times and put it down again before plucking up the courage to do it. Turns out to be the best thing I could have done for myself. From my experience , for your first appointment, book a long one or double time so that you can talk without feeling rushed.

If you would like a trusted person to make the call or come with you, this idea can take some anxiety of the situation.

Yes, that’s my problem. I am having a hard time making that first call.
