Anxiety and covid 19 coronavirus
Thanks for your post. We need to change our thoughts about C-19 virus. It is not true that we will get it. It's just a risk that you might. We need to TRUST the government will do its best to keep us safe and to THANK all of the brave people on the front line. While we are in isolation we need to keep busy so that anxiety cant take over our head spaces. Once anxiety kicks into gear, there is no turning back and it will get progressively worse UNLESS you can find a counsellor who is the best person to teach you about anxiety and help you to tame it. In the meantime, please find your special space where you can destress. I'm a lover of a long bath, good books and red wine. There are lots of online-forums with other ideas for surviving this testing time. There are mental health hotlines which can provide help 24/7. Details for these are specific to your country of residence. Please keep well and stay safe. Of course we are here for you too.💙
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I do yoga daily and breathing exercises and it’s been helping. I’ve just been struggling to get a handle on it.
I am considered low risk, I have only been out of the house in the past 2.5 weeks for shopping ( about one and a half hours) and since then I have just been waiting for symptoms. I’m my rational moments I know that I have greatly reduced my risk of catching it and I was also careful when I was out shopping. Even if I did somehow manage to become infected , again, I know that I may be unwell but highly unlikely seriously ill. Yet I still am panicking and getting myself worked up. I worry for children and partner.
Thank you so much again. Sending positivity to everyone who is finding themselves in difficulties during this time. 😊
Keep in mind, if you follow the guidelines, the chance of getting ot are, very very low.
It dosen't just spontaneously infect people. So stay home, stay safe.
Try to avoid TV and social media,
Its definitely difficult situation and scary, but panic just makes it worse.
Hang in there, your not alone.
Hi! Thanks for the quick reply.
You are quite right and it’s already helping having positive feed back from this group
. My partner is very supportive but doesn’t experience high levels of anxiety so it’s difficult for him to get it.
I can deal with being at home with my two young children - it’s tiring but we can manage that.
It’s the high levels of anxiety that I have been experiencing that send me into outer space!
I am from the uk. I got the link for this group from a NHS website. Is this a international forum? 😊
Anxiety symptoms are just like a bad boyfriend. If you pay them any attention they will never go away. Give them the old heave ho !
