Nothing is more disappointing than seeing someone who's older being rude and claiming they're just being honest and blunt, yes you're not being paid to help here, we all give what we can, but when someone post asking for advice your sarcasm is not needed nor is your mean reply. You can be honest without being rude or making the other person feel less than. I guess I expected too much and believed my elders always know better and it seems like maturity just went right over some people's head. Maybe I spent too much of my life between the pages of a book and simply cannot understand human behavior. You're grown. Do better especially on a site like this

Don't leave! I literally joined just tonight and already found 2 really star people who have been amazing. Quick look at you and you seem amazing too. Don't let one dick ruin if for you. It's a great place and better with you in it. Can you not block and report morons like that? Hope that all makes sense, I just dropped a sleeping tablet and my screen looks like it's bubbling 😂 good luck and hope to see you around!

I'm sorry you're upset Danielle ,this is a public site, you will find all kind of people on it and not all will be kind older or not

Take care Danielle, come back when you're ready

I'm sorry you're upset. I had a similar experience on another forum with rudeness and bullying. Being the ultra-sensitive person I am, I took it very personally (I began doubting my own self-worth it was that bad). I am learning how to let it wash over me. Not easy, but I'm trying. Life's too short to spend feeling bad due to the actions of others. I invite you to read my post "Ashamed and thinking I'm a truly awful person", in which I talk about this. I got some really nice responses -- ones I'm hoping might help you as well. Just click on my username and scroll to my post.

I hope, for both our sakes, we can learn this essential life skill of developing a thick skin.🙂

*Edit: forgot to add that the thread I refer to has mostly to do with how I responded to being mistreated. In short: people had been rude and bullying, I ranted to my husband about it, repeated on the forum what I said to him, it was taken completely the wrong way, more bullying ensued and I blew up to the forum.

The world is already unkind to us at least we should be to our fellow brothers and sisters with mental illnesses, will check out the post I'm really sorry you went through that no one deserve to be bullied

You are so right! Awful! To have words like "troll", "scumbag" and "someone who shouldn't be giving hope to others" attached to anyone's name (like these were to mine) is completely uncalled for!

in reply to

So horrible that this happened, that's why I don't like arguments the second I notice a shift with the way the person is replying I move myself away from the conversation, people can be mean so I leave them with their mean words. I'm here if you ever need to vent, I'm a great listener

I noticed, you're awesome!🙂 I didn't mean to take over your post. I just thought it fit in nicely and would oddly help, that's all! Has it helped some? You can say no.

in reply to

It did help hun, greatly 🌻❤ and remember I'm here anytime you want to chat

in reply to

Oh, awesome! Thanks for the offer to chat.😊 I'm headed to bed soon, so "see" you tomorrow!

Hi Doggymom!

When I read you describe yourself as ultra-sensitive (me too), I wanted to share with you something I just came across on the internet: Eggshell Therapy.

It is a new way of looking at yourself if you are very sensitive. Imi Lo is the writer.

She talks about BPD being wrongly labeled a disorder, and how much more hope there is for people who realize it is, instead, a learned coping behavior. She has lectures on the internet, a book, and is a featured writer in Psychology Today. She describes ultra-sensitivity as an asset, and says the claims BPD is incurable are nonsense.

By the way, I have not been diagnosed with BPD, but I have always known myself to be much thinner-skinned than the herd. Maybe you will find something here too.

Interesting! Thank you!!😊

Absolutely. I believe if you don't have anything nice to say keep it too yourself. Other people's words should never hurt or offend anything or anyone. I'm with you 💯.

in reply to SillyDuck

Exactly, especially on a mental health forum, it's suppose to be a safe place here

😕 Hope your feeling better... sorry don't know what happened. Definitely need more kindness, especially now. I can be sarcastic, but know it's not always well received. Big hugs to you, your mom & Spidey... & of course lots of love.💗🌻💗🌻💗🌻

in reply to melbrown

I'm calmer now, just saw some rude replies earlier on a post I needed to speak on it, gives the family hugs on my part and of course my baby Hans 🌻❤❤

not been on here as much must admit I never noticed anything but its true and it also happens behind the scene.

in reply to kenster1

That's why I had to speak out and send a few pms informing them on their behavior, this is a safe place for many members and being mindful of other people's feeling don't cost a thing

I've noticed people who are "blunt and honest" seem to specialize in the soft spoken, easy targets and loners.

What happens to their love of the truth when talking to the strong, the leaders or the hell's angels types?

in reply to Blackdog1

Exactly, that says a lot about them, I won't stand for it, this site is suppose to be a safe place
