I’m diagnosed with ptsd, severe depression , severe anxiety, fibromyalgia, and narcalipsy just to start but my brain goes 100 miles per minute I can’t concentrate on one task. I start about three to four things all at once I manage to finish everything but it’s frustrating any advice?

I have a problem where if there is something that needs to be done, then I must do it and get it over with or else it just bothers me that I have to do it but haven't gotten to it as yet.

I also lose concentration sometimes and tend to forget things, which does not help at all. It is very frustrating and sometimes feels hopeless, the whole situation.

The whole mind racing, heart racing thing I know all too well. I was never able to take advise for this as when this happens it's just something I have absolutely no control over, ever!

But if it helps try taking deep breaths and try focusing on one thing at a time instead of cramming up all your tasks and tiring yourself out. Try exercise, yoga. All have ways of calming the body and mind. There are plenty of stuff on Youtube for this ,to show you how and which ones work best.

Hope this is of some help to you. All the best.

Thank you I also get the heart and head racing and just have to endure it smoking pot helps a little but I’m already dependent on so many medications that i don’t want to depend on that but it helps with my racing thoughts

I've had major depressive/anxiety disorder on and off pretty much all of my life. Sometimes, no matter what you do, it has to run it's course. My last episode lasted 5yrs. I am med-resistant to everything but the 2 newer meds I am on now. I found that for racing thoughts, Seraquil, (or the generic, Quetiapine) works for that, although is very sedating. I now use it for sleep because nothing else worked for me.

I take quetiapine too along with 17 other medications and I smoke pot for my racing thoughts but I can’t be high all the time. I wish I could get off all my medications so I would be able to get mad and not just sit and cry

I can identity with this thread. Last night I completely yelled at my daughter. My nerves were rattled trying to figure something out on the computer. She wasn’t helping me and instead was petting the dog like right beside me.

I said it calmly as I could, but I had to ask her to move and tell her how agitated I was feeling. I was ready to explode!

Lucky for me, my daughter is a sweetheart and understands.

Take care!

lostgirl75 thank you for reaching out here. I urge you to make a list of what you are to do in a day. then go one by one. as you do, it should give you the sense of accomplishment and positive thinking. if you have a lot to do, then just make a morning list, lunch break, afternoon list, dinner break evening.... the idea is to have a schedule and to have structure.
