I am struggling with depression for over 9 years, but i have just been taking medication for 4 months by now...
but because of COVID 19 pandemic, sadly my meds are still on the way (pre-order), so i have a discontinuation syndrome...
I have insomnia for a few days, and had a terrible headache also... i feel so restless and terrible..
its hard for me to work during the day...
Trying to sleep makes me scare these days, because i cant sleep and make my anxiety worsen during the night... im very frustated...
ive already try a few ways (without sleeping pills) but nothing can made me sleep....
Do you guys have any suggestion for this situation?
I have no idea to overcome this condition, and no one in my circle, could understand my situation.
Hope you guys could help me with idea ๐

Hello and welcome here. Thoughts can be a problem on the way to fall asleep, they make us anxious.
Give a try to calm down thoughts:
โ imagine some sweet moments, that you experienced, or will experience, or would like to experience
โ give attention to your body (observe the breathing, feelings), the room, where you sleep, or things around you (sounds, colors, items) without any judgment
โ count each breath, don't blame yourself if you get distracted, just start to count again
โ write down problems you worried about, and tell yourself, that you will solve them tomorrow (and do it, but don't think about it untill tomorrow's morning, there is no need to worry yet)
I would say try to wear yourself out during the day. Exercise or clean maybe. Melatonin & sleepy tea usually works for me too. If all else fails try a big plate of pasta followed by a sugar crash inducing bowl of ice cream. ๐
I have experienced sleep issues over the last 10 years, but in the past 2 I've developed some skills/tools that have helped me quite a bit. The first is obvious, but its to try your hardest to implement a wind down period before what would be a reasonable time to fall asleep for you. I don't believe in bed times, but I have a system that signals to my mind and my body that its time to get ready for rest. I make my tea and do something relaxing, which for me is watching something light and funny on TV. Once I'm trying to fall asleep I like listening to ASMR videos on youtube specifically meant to help with sleep. You get tingles and just feel really good and relaxed. I also listen to meditations with binaural sounds because it brings me back to my center. A youtube channel I recommend is Jason Stephenson. For your medication issues, I would say talk to your doctor see if they can write a prescription for more than 30 days next time unless they are planning to change your medication/dosage. Try not to worry about running out of meds. Its not your fault. I hope you can chill tonight and get some rest/sleep.
