I find myself singing parts of songs as I go about my day and they usually are ones I like, usually. I love believeinyourself123’s posts that are fun and distracting and I’d like to do the same.
Comment down below some lyrics from a song that you like or that you sing on repeat!

I love George Jones. When I was in my early 20s my mom and I found a cd by him. Never really heard of him. We listened to it and learned every song we loved it so much. The cd was scratched up bad. My mom has passed years ago at an early age. And I recently down loaded a cd from iTunes. It brings back good memories and sad memories but I love it.
I grew up on 90s country and I always really liked it. I never gave the older country music a chance. I watched that new country music documentary on PBS and just fell in love with stories of the old singers. Then I got into their music and it was just like wow. The sound is so pure and relaxing. I also just watched this documentary about lil peep and it was totally not what I expected. I was kind of turned off to that type of music and people like myself will judge him because he has tattoos on his face and his music is kind of dark. I learned that his outer body was just reflecting how he felt inside, turmoil. His music isn't really music it's kind of like therapy. It definitely helps me when I'm despairing. This probably wasnt what you expected in a response lol I've just got a lot of feelings going on right now. If you love george jones you probably will like charley pride, conway twitty, buck Owens and some others. I go back even farther than george I like the Carter family, hank Williams and jimmie rodgers too.
I often sing along to Cage the Elephant's cover of "Instant Crush" on repeat: "And we'll never be alone again / 'Cause it doesn't happen everyday / Kinda counted on you being a friend / Can I give it up or give it away?"
Cage the Elephant has some super great stuff! The only songs I know of theirs are: Ain’t no rest for the wicked and Trouble. I’ll look up that cover and give it a listen!!
I like some of the tracks from their latest album, Social Cues, especially "Ready to Let Go" and "Goodbye." The songs you mentioned are good ones, too -- for some reason, "Trouble" reminds me of the song "I Will Buy You A New Life" by Everclear ... I don't know what it is, maybe the chord progression or something (I don't know anything about the mechanics of music).
"Everybody Hurts" is such an evocative song; it's so interesting because it sounds like such a sad song, musically with a slow, drawled lyric -- and certainly the idea that "everybody hurts" isn't the most positive-sounding message -- but when you listen closely to the lyrics, it's all about hope: "When you're sure you've had enough / Of this life, well, hang on" and "If you feel like you're alone / No, no, no, you're not alone" and that wonderful outro of "Hold on" -- simply brilliant song.
I agree there is so much hope in that song. Those are the words I cling to.
The history behind the song is about realizing you are not alone and suicide doesn't have to be the only way out. I found that quite interesting. The video of the song sends a strong message.
Thank you for your comment. Although the title of the song may lead one to believe it is depressing, there's a huge element of hope contained in the words.
Hope and understanding is why we all gravitated to this site.
I watched that show a lot as a kid!! 😅 im sure I annoyed my parents hah. Thankfully, my siblings don’t watch it. But, my sister and I have been watching “This is us”. I hope you’ve been able to get it out of your mind and catch a new song worm (or whatever they call it 🤔😆).
'Baby shark doo doo ta do....baby shark doo doo ta do...Mommy shark'....etc.
Feel free to kill me later.... our kids here bring the song up just to torment me, that's okay....I have the power of cookie or no cookie....I always win...or maybe it's the other way around.... you know how your cat trains you....probably the same thing....subliminal messaging....
😂😂😂 that’s my little sisters favorite song!! She’s 3. She could listen to it on hours on end. 😅
Do your kids also like “Family Finger” song? It goes like “Sister finger, sister finger, where are you? Here I am, here I am. How do you do?” That one can get annoying too.
These two little people are the kids we have minded for their mother and a friend of ours since they were only a few months old each. So we have had them with us for almost all their lives, so we consider them, and they do us, as extended family. And now they are at the sophisticated ages of 7 and 8 so they are too grown up for kid songs....scary ....I know. But it's the big joke to torment me with the 'baby shark' song. Back in my little brother and sister’s day it was Barney the Dinosaur songs.....I think it should be listed as cruel and unusual punishment.
Yea, when I sing the happy birthday song, I sing it to the corona virus. 😅 but it has gotten old! I’ll have to try that. ...maybe I could do the theme song for fairy odd parents too to switch it up.
Oh! I haven’t seen it yet but I want to. I can’t stand rewatching things but I make an exception for my younger siblings. I always notice something different... but it can get old. 😆😂😂 you must be a wonderful great grandparent!
Okay, this is really stupid, but I think it runs in my family. I've had "Come on Eileen" stuck in my head ever since this pandemic started, except instead of "Come on Eileen," my brain sings, "Covid 19." LOL.
I was in a musical back in December called The Putnam County Spelling Bee and a song from that musical called Magic Foot has been stuck in my head for probably a month now...lol
I also have One Call Away by Charlie Puth stuck in my head for some reason
Then there's I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! at the Disco
Finally there are two different songs I wrote called Life in a Movie and Lost and Found
These are all so different in genre that they get jumbled up and my brain gets a little bit confused lol!!! 😂
