For two months after a breakup I experienced very strong anxiety. After four months it seems to be moving towards a greater percentage of time as depression. Is this progress?

Hi beanjack...we each handle breakups differently. Time being the essence of healing.
Anxiety can easily turn into depression as the loss goes on longer. Only you will
know when the pain no longer stops you from going forward. Medication and therapy
can help to a point but it will be you alone that will need to let go of the past and what might
have been. Losing your dream job certainly didn't help as well as the crisis we are all living
through. However bad life gets, we must always keep that glimmer of hope and belief that
things happen for a reason. And that reason isn't always a bad thing. xx
