Has anyone has had a twitch in the cheek that has lasted more than 48 hours??
2 nights ago I was meditating with a friend of mine and when I finally got into a relaxation state this twitch in my left cheek started and it hasn't stop since then. I'm a little freaked out, I want to blame anxiety but I have never seen it in the cheek for that long, anyone??

Many, many times. I think they're called fasciculations (sp) and they are caused by stress. They should go away. I have not had them yet (this episode) but I get them and have had them over time. Don't be not alarmed if they last for a few weeks and they will probably be getting better when your stress does. I am not a doctor but I have had them so many times. Your rational/ executive mind may have been able to relax with meditation but your body/amygdala was just suppressing fear. My friends have had them too and it's ironic because then they become the focus of the fear. It's a loop.
It has so much sense, and that is why I'm trying to accept them and floating with this feeling, but it keeps poking my anxiety levels and it's so frustrating
You know, sometimes I experience something physical and I get preoccupied with it because it is less disturbing, to me, on an unconscious level, than the thing I'm truly worried about and avoiding. Does that sound right to you, as far as a possibility?
I try to float with them, but they are always reminding me that they are there to disturb me. I have grown and learned so much to cope with my panic episodes, but they are exhausting. Believe it or not, this group opened a window of hope for me, I have had great advisers and empathy. I'm so grateful all of you responding and somehow caring
