There's something so special about snow on trees.

I love the look of snow on trees from my window but shoveling snow, brushing off the car, driving in snow or how cold it can be not so much. It does look beautiful when it collects on evergreens though...

I like walking or horse riding thru the forest when it snows as it seems to be even quieter than usual as though the snow dampens the usual forest noises like birds sounding warnings of me coming, squirrels and chipmunks chasing each other and making kissy noises... it’s snowing today here again but is very damp and temperature is dropping.... great day to look at snow in trees from inside with a blanket around the shoulders.

Yes, I agree- it has it's downsides as well. Taking a horse ride through the snow sounds wonderful, I've never done that. I love to walk in a nearby park because its usually empty in this weather and its just my own tracks and those of the animals that live there.

That’s 1 thing I forgot about snow... the fresh blanket erasing the dirty snow underneath. Being able to break a fresh path in new snow....

It’s kinda like a fresh start each snowfall... my grandma used to tell me that tomm is a fresh start without any mistakes... I edited to add this as it popped into my head as I was looking out window at snow falling...

My next door neighbors tend to leave all the kids toys and bikes out in their yard. If I could only get it to snow on their lawn year round.

Lol - I didn’t finish raking up my leaves and pine needles this year so the snow is hiding my procrastination, laziness or somewhat denial of that particular task.... burn ban in fall and super full compost bin is my excuse as I hate having to buy paper bags to stuff leaves into then dragging them to corner to be taken away... lmao! I know when spring comes I will have to clean up what I didn’t before snow so I will enjoy my blissful out of sight out of mind sort of thing I am employing...

You could always buy big green tarps that u cover neighbours crap with each night until they get the message.... lol

One nice thing about not raking leaves: I found an area under the back steps were leaves were continually deposited over the years, and the soil underneath was so rich and soft!

I have a big compost pile that does turn out same rich soil it’s just I have more trees then room in pile.... maybe I should make a 2nd pile...

So can you get soil out from the hidey hole and replace with new leaves to continue the process?

I was composting and didn't even know it. My mom would be so proud.

I love how snow covers everything-insulating sound. The peace and quiet of it all is comforting.
