Hi
My sister has depression and is suffering from psychosis. Does anyone have any experience of this. She is frightened and confused as are we.
We have the CMHT coming on Tuesday. Is there anything in particular I should ask of them?
Thank you

I have experience with psychosis and if she is having a psychotic episode she needs to be hospitalized now. Those in psychosis can hurt themselves and others. I tried to hurt my mil and I love her. Call the cops to commit her now to save herself and possibly others. It's no joke. Therapy won't help. She needs to be committed and medicated right away.
I am glad to hear that you have an appointment with the CMHT soon. As someone else said the combination of depression and psychosis can be dangerous. But both lie on a Continuum from mild to Severe. I don't know who did the referral, but I am thinking it was likely a professional who assessed the situation and took action based on that assessment. Of course I can't be certain, without more information, and caution is definitely the order of the day.
I also think that the CMHT, will have plenty of experience in the field, and be able to answer any questions you may have, even if you don't know what they are yet.
someone needs to stay with her at all times, keep reassuring her that she is ok
