I work in a very toxic work environment, causing anxiety, stress, insomnia, and depression.
I had a final interview today at a new employer I really wanted to join and blew it in the last 2 minutes. I told the recruiter my current salary without an actual offer being made from them.
Rookie mistake. And I know better than to do that. But I'm so sleep deprived and stressed from current job, I was totally off my game.
And now I'll spend the next 2 weeks beating myself up, leading to more insomnia, stress, and anxiety. They said they'll let me know in the next week or two, but I blew it.
Sigh...

Wellllll don’t beat yourself up about that! The fact you made it to your final interview means they see something in you. Honestly they might even call you in 2 weeks and if they don’t it’s okay, keep pushing. I went in multiple interviews since July 2019. I have a solid work history and education and it’s not until November 2019 I was given a job offer. You know how many No’s I heard and how many calls I didn’t get back, but I kept at it, you can do the same.
I appreciate that. And I realize it could be worse. I could have no job. Even tho where I work is destroying me mentally, I'm sure there's plenty of others who would be happy to be working.
I tend to ruminate and ruminate. Have been since the interview ended. Tough to deal with on top of everything else.
Yes I get the constant worrying! And I also get the toxic work environment, another great thing about this as I read your post that your actually being proactive to find something to get out of it. That’s so good. There are sooooo many people who would stay and not do anything. You might get a surprise. Also if they do call you can always say I know I mentioned my salary before however since I have a strong desire to work for this company I will be content with what I am offered. IF you feel like to say something along those lines not those exact words but to be able to show you are willing for flexibility. Having a peace of mind is worth more than anything. Trust me I understand,
