Road rage

I suffered a pretty bad road rage beating last Thursday. I'm still black and blue, but I'm really struggling emotionally and mentally. My nightmares are terrifying and my startle reflex is out of control. I'm slipping into depression.

Does anyone have advice on how to get tested for PTSD ???

Any advice on how to get a therapy dog???

Thanks

You need to go see someone. Start with your GP who will hopefully refer you to a therapist and psychiatrist.

Sounds like a very scary event. I'm glad you are " ok"

Trauma like that should be dealt with as soon as you can. Start talking things out.

Good luck and take care of yourself.

Thank you. I've had emergent chiropractic care for whiplash and I'm in Neuro Emotional Therapy to help with the emotional aspects of the beatdown

That will be very helpful. You have to talk through it. Holding it in makes it worse. I learned the hard way.

I wish I knew about the therapy dog.

What I do know is I had a dog for 14 years. He knew just how to help me when I was crying. He was always by my side. I've read therapy dogs can be expensive. Just saying my " regular" dog was my life line.

Something to consider if you can't get or afford a trained dog.

Yes. I'm hoping my rescue English Bull Terrier can be certified as a Therapy dog. And I hope the training doesn't cost too much !

She keeps me alive... she gives me a reason to get out of bed

Sorry about this,

Sad story to hear. I wish you the best in life and dont pay no mind to the people who think they own the damn road and make their own rules.. especially to just any bullies in general.

Just let them be a fool and go about your business. May the lord bless you with happiness and love from those around you.

Happy holidays

Thank you

We have a dog, a rescue dog, He is not a therapy dog, just a normal family member. The can pick up on things going wrong or when you are upset, so a dog does help like the one you have now

PTSD you need to talk to your Doctor for Therapy, for you to come to terms with the attack. The sooner you do it the better, leaving it to long can make the problem worse to sort.

You seem to have been able to work out who the person is, that is good getting an arrest will help you move on because it is a form of closure

The police haven't ID'd him yet, but it's just a matter of time. Fingers crossed.

I'm in touch with Canadian Mental Health Assoc and they're giving me referrals.

Hope to get a new Family Doctor soon... maybe find a few more helpful resources.

Thanks

What the hell is wrong with people???? Im sorry you endured this.

People seriously suck. I have so little faith in humanity. Common decency doesn't even exist anymore.

I'm sorry this happened to you. It sounds terrible, but I'm glad you're getting help. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing. Especially if the cops catch the SOB.

I think they're close to identifying him
