Is it possible for certain people to trigger depressive thoughts and suicidal thoughts? I think my step-dad is always talking about me and saying stuff about me and I just try and distract myself. I think it’s my anxiety getting to me. I isolate in my room which is probably not good for me, but seeing him makes me angry. Since it’s like he’s replacing my dad who has passed away.

Yes, I have that same issue with my step mom.
No one can replace your father and I am sure your stepfather understands this. Why do you think he is always talking about you? Do you have real grounds for this and if so what? Do you think you are using him as the focus for the loss of your dad? He could be just worried about you.
If you have a good relationship with your mother then try talking to her about this.
I definitely think other people that are negative can affect how you feel. I deal with that on a daily basis.
no one can replace our dad, and you don't have to like him. Don't worry about what you think he might be saying, if he says something to you directly that you question or don't like.....be calm and direct about how that makes you feel and that your just trying to cope with the fact that he is there and this is difficult for you because you don't really know him.
