Anxiety Attack for what reason?

I had a mild attack at work today - first time for that while here. Cold/clammy hands; chest pain, exhaustion, light tingling in hands/arms; light-headed and dizzy. What do you do when that happens? Are there exercises you trust? It's been going on for hours now...comes and goes...

Best thing to do when that happens is to sit back and take a deep breath. And repeat several times.

That’s good for immediate short term relief. For a routine you can do every day or so, look for meditation audios online.

Deep breathe and know that it will end--it's transient and not harmful. Have you tried breathing into a paper bag? Exercise, regular sleep and good diet eventually helps.

Hey fbcoach, my first thought was to ask if you were sure that it was not a heart/stroke incident as those symptoms are similar. But then I looked at your past post regarding TIA episode. I still think it is wise to include your medical doctor in the conversation about what you just experienced since he/she can also advise you regarding handling anxiety.

Since you called this a mild attack, does that mean that you have experienced previous episodes which have been more intense? If so, what have you done to get through those?

Not what you're looking for?
