Breast ultrasound - depressed

Are three ultrasounds enough to rule out anything sinister? I’ve had this lump in my left breast since (I found it) in March or April. Since then I’ve had about three ultrasounds of it- my most recent being about a month ago. In the midst of a panic attack 😞 initially it was thought to be a Fibroadenoma - that’s what the obgyn thought it was based off feeling it, it does feel like that. - but the ultrasound tech and the radiologist said no Fibroadenoma just fibrocystic change / tissue. All said that... I’m so depressed and anxious and just feel like I can’t move on.

Take my hand and move on Frenchie...I've lived with those words all my adult life.

Menstrual cycle as well as caffeine can provoke it. Three ultrasounds are more than

conclusive that there is nothing to worry about. Time to celebrate the good news. :) xx

Thank you so much for responding, it helps me so much. I’ve heard caffeine can provoke also! I’ve tried cutting back. Can fibrocystic feel like a lump? I will try my very hardest to trust the ultrasounds and celebrate the news. 💕

It's fine. Cancerous lumps feel a certain way, different from fibrous tissue. If they were suspicious at all, legally they have to at least recommend biopsy. They are very careful about their responsibility for your sake too.

Mine almost feels like a Lima bean, it’s very strange and distinct... it does sort of feel like a Fibroadenoma. But yes I did have three ultrasounds over it so I will try to remain calm. I wish I could just move on. Thank you so much for your response - it means the world to me ♥️

It’s just weird to me that the ultrasound didn’t even come back with a Fibroadenoma or anything - just fibro tissue 🤷🏼‍♀️

You sound like my daughter. She discovered a breast lump and went to have it biopsied. She has anxiety disorder by the way and she's 50.

She went to get the results from the cancer specialist who told her it wasn't cancer just a concentration of fibrous tissue.

At this point my daughter became upset and almost in tears replied: "Well if it isn't cancer what is it?"

Here is the cancer specialist's reply: "I've been doing this job for 20 years and you are the first person who when I told them they don't have cancer wasn't pleased!"

Don't be like my daughter. Your three ultrascans will have been studied by 3 medical specialists who spent up to 5 years at medical school. They are happy it's not cancer.

You're not convinced. So you must ask yourself: "How many years did I spend at medical school? Who's right, them or me?"

Frenchielover, be reassured, be confident that you're o.k. Don't let your high anxiety over rule the medical specialists.

Well my friend, fibrocystic masses are really common - nothing to worry about. Some women's breasts are just lumpy.
