I feel like my brain is deteriorating

For the last four years of my life I have been struggling with anxiety. Recently, I have gone through some major, negative, life changes and I have been incredibly depressed for the last two months. I have maybe one full good day a week. If that. But is it normal to feel like this? Like a zombie? I have been really sad before but I have never been depressed like this. I talk super slow, it takes a while to think of what I want to say next, I don't remember some things that used to be apart of my daily routine. Any advice? I'm already on lexapro for anxiety (have been on for a year) and Wellbutrin for the depression. I just started Wellbutrin this last weekend though.

Well it sounds like the ugly nasty disease talking...are you in therapy? Are there any things you enjoy doing? Like listening to music, going for a walk, doing a puzzle, etc.

Sometimes we have to force ourselves to do something and when we do it actually helps us to feel a tad better...

I feel for you and wish for you peace of mind..

May you have some sparkle in your day..

I am in therapy. She's a new therapist, my old one stopped working, so I'm not sure how I feel about her yet. She can only see me every other week and when she does see me she doesn't really give me any input. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Therapy, I mean. But I do sudoku puzzles when I get anxious. I'll try to get back into things that I enjoy. Recently I tried to get back into the gym but made it as far as the parking lot before I started crying and went home. Good thing is I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I just don't know how long this damn tunnel is. Which increases the anxiety 🙃 thank you so much for taking the time to say something!

Maybe you haven't built a connection with the new therapist, let them know how you feel and what you want in a therapist, it's your right!

I workout via youtube, don't have to leave the home then, no worries about being seeing or what you're wearing, ha!

Yes do things that make you happy or make you smile.. oh and make sure you laugh, great medicine, you can go to youtube for that one.

Wishing you peace of mind and some sparkle in your day.

I am so sorry you are in this dark place. I think maybe it is time to reach out to your doctor and see if they have any advice. This is not normal, maybe you could try a new therapist? Sometimes we just to blend well with all therapist, you need someone who can listen and give you feel bad it that is what you desire. The emotional roller coaster that surround depression and anxiety is real and it can leave us feeling alone, I pray you are able to reach out to both your prescribing doctor and find a new therapist who you feel more comfortable with....
