I'm a research junkie - what are you looking for and I will try to find it for you!
What does propranolol actually help in a body
I find it has a calming affect and relieves the anxiety
It’s very subtle and takes about 20 minutes to half an hour to release the feeling in my body
Ok friend, this is what I found. First, the FDA has not approved Propranolol for treatment of anxiety. Propranolol for anxiety is called an "off label use". This doesn't mean much - case studies found it may help reduce the symptoms of anxiety in folks that have not been helped by other anxiety treatments. Propranolol is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers change the way the body reacts to epinephrine (adrenalin). Epinephrine is a hormone and neurotransmitter that plays a vital role in the body's fight-or-flight response, which can lead to anxiety. Reducing the effects of epinephrine on the body may also reduce the intensity of anxiety. Emerging research suggests that some beta-blockers may also change how the body recalls and responds to fearful memories. This finding suggests that the drug could treat PTSD and phobias, but more research is necessary to confirm this use. Through my research I found beta-blockers also have been found to reduce migraine headaches. I am really jazzed about that because I've been wondering why haven't had a migraine since I started Propranolol! I hope this answers your question!
Thank you so much! Research can be intimidating
