Fluoxetine are these affects normal

I have been on fluoxetine for almost six weeks, started at 20m about 2-3 weeks ago was increased to 40m, I seem to get a few good days when I feel much better and as though the low mood has gone and the black cloud has lifted, and then maybe the next day I am back to feeling not like doing anything, today is one of those days, yesterday I felt pretty good all day.

Has anyone else experienced this, I would love to hear from someone else that has been like this, each time I have a good dayI worry what may happen tomorrow.

Please someone tell me that this is normal.

Hi, I’ve been on and off fluoxetine many times and never had that problem except if I’d been on it too long it would simply stop working. I hope you & your doc figure out why this is a happening. Maybe it’s not the right med for you. Good luck!

There's a saying, "two steps forward, one step back"

You are getting good days and if that's better than how you were before fluoxetine then maybe you need to weigh up the pros and cons.

And yes, its normal

Yes I do feel good on the good days, the good days are getting more, and on the bad days I don’t feel the low mood so much now, I just don’t feel the same not so happy.

But if this is normal to feel like this I will keep going, and hope that the good days become more than the not so good days become less.

I just needed some reassurance that it is normal to feel like this.

I have taken fluoxetine before but many years ago, so I can’t remember what happened then, but when I was better I felt wonderful.

Any advise I am happy to listen.
