Anxiety
Welcome to this amazing support site Greysfan53.
You are correct in knowing what our triggers are is
the first step in finding a solution.
For me, it's definitely my daughter's health. I use
acceptance and coping skills to get me through each
day.
I'm glad you are here with us. xx
My triggers are shaking, because I start to panic thinking it's an earthquake due to some childhood trauma, movie theaters, my health, and strobe lights. Some I've had for decades, others, like my health anxiety, are relatively new. What are you thinking in terms of yours?
Greysfan53, my health problems have always been my trigger for anxiety & I hate it. Just when you think your health is doing fairly well, something else comes along & you go to the doctor's & they run test on you, more medicine & scare you with the worst senerio. I'm now having a problem with my right eye with blurriness & woke up with it & there are no medicines or surgeries that can fix the problem, because it pertains to the optic nerve of the eye. I been dealing with this since June of this year & the anxiety has been terrible. I'm now seeing a psychiatrist & he put me on 2 new medicine to help with my depression & anxiety & they are not working fully yet that I can tell. I pray a lot to God to get me through this difficult time!🙏🙌🙏
It is also worth pointing out that continually searching for the triggers for anxiety is the actual trigger itself. It isn't some thing or a situation, It is the constant battle inside your head ( what ifs) that is keeping you stuck in the perpetual cycle. You are literally fighting with yourself, chasing your own tail. Once you have got over one hump, your anxiety will simply attach itself to something else. Another "hump" to battle and overcome. It isn't the hump which is the problem because it is anxiety that is creating those humps. Humps being created because you keep looking for them!
If you stop looking for the triggers, you will probably find those" humps " disappearing.
Anxiety is a paradox. The more you do to try and recover, the further away it gets. You will only get better once you stop trying to get better.
For me I am triggered when I am in a very stressful situation. When sometimes things really go wrong and I could hardly find the solution to it. When I lack sleep. The next day everything really stresses me out so much and when i can't control them, then my anxiety kicks in. To make matters worst, my panic attacks joins too.
As much as possible I try to avoid these triggers of mine. Try to relax myself and de-stress myself once in a while. I can't let anxiety rule my life. It's a lesson I had to learn the hard way.
It could be anything? Try keeping a journal of what's going on at the time of your attack? For me it's having to do ANYTHING, tied of being responsible. For example I took my car to a drive though car wash today, I had an Anxiety Attack in my car. Ive talked myself out of shopping, banking even taking a shower. Are you in counseling?
Triggers come and go and we can't change them, only how we react. Taking care of yourself will give you the strength to get thru them. So, magnesium and ginseng are great for stopping anxiety from overwhelming us. Mag. calms the mind body and spirit and ginseng is great to get rid of sticky negative thoughts that loop around. A good multi will have the mag. and also B complex which is great for energy and focus, mood and nerve healing.
