Tingling , pins and needles

This is my current situation; panicking about my limbs and face being tingly. I know it seems worse when I concentrate on it, but I just can't let go the 'what ifs'.

I've had it off and on for over ten years. It's been 3 years since I last complained to the doctor. I know they ran tests, I know they are not concerned.

I guess I am just wondering if anyone else feels this way? I've read it can be hyperventilating, but I feel like I'm breathing? What do you do to overcome it?

Thanks all. It helps to know I'm not the only one.

I have the same thing when I am having an anxiety attack. Could it be a panic/anxiety attack?

I get that way when I get very panicked like when the tornadoes are coming here every season. I have to breathe slowly and distract myself, read something, look at TV or something where your mind has to refocus.

Hi Sabw,

I'm sorry that you've been having this trouble for so many years. It's no fun, is it? Since you've been cleared medically of any serious concerns other than anxiety, I believe your troubles are from just that---anxiety. I've had the same symptoms when I had anxiety.

Can you test this theory out by doing slow breathing when you next have these symptoms? Do you know how to slow your breathing down? When you do this, your symptoms should begin to disappear. If, after you've done the slow breathing and most of the symptoms are gone, but you still have some tingling coupled with coldness and numbness, you may have some peripheral neuropathy. This is diagnosed by a neurologist here in the States, idk who does it in the UK or elsewhere.

There isn't much you can do for this, I think it mostly helps people feel in control of their body rather than waiting around for a name of a disease.

The thing is that you’re focusing on it way too much and that’s why you keep feeling it, i’ve been in that cycle and it’s hard to get out of. it’s mainly just your anxiety. try your best to distract yourself and do things you love whenever you have that feeling

It hasn't been ten years continuous, just come and gone for ten years. Been about two months this time, but off and on. It's just an on week. I just don't know how to turn my brain off... How to break the cycle without going to the doc for expensive tests.

Thanks for the responses you all. I know I need to stop focusing on it...
