Hello, has anyone experienced numbness and/tingling in face? I have read that it can be brought on by anxiety, but I am not feeling anxious when this happens,

Not using either. For the pat 5 weeks I have been dealing with depression and anxiety. Both I feel are under control, due to medicine. I just started getting these feelings in my head a few days ago.

No chemicals. It comes and goes. I am wondering if it could be from tension. I feel a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders.

It is a vicious cycle. I get stressed when it happens. You start thinking of all sorts of things. When you feel the numbness/tingling do you have anxiety with it or just get anxiety because of it? How long does it last?

I am hoping it is not a sign of a stroke.. Could it be a Bell's Palsy ? talk to your doctor about it. I would consider going to a good acupuncture doctor. If you have a neuro-acupuncture doctor than that is even better. Neuro acupuncture is very cool... when medicine could not help my son with his hand tremor.. the neuro-acupuncture doctor fixed it in one visit.

Also try cutting down/out on caffeine .. it can cause tingling and twitches. I get goofy eyelid twitches when I drink too much caffeine.

I hope you feel better soon!

So I suffered from panic attacks for a long time. Usually, my panic attacks would show up as symptoms maybe 10 minutes to a half an hour after I had a particularly anxious thought. Often they'd show up well after the anxious insult, once things have calmed down.

Numbness and tingling in the face, especially around the mouth and cheeks, might just be a panic attack. I also know if you really are tense you can constrict certain nerves that would make your face numb. Listen to the docs here but I'd think without other symptoms, this might be anxiety.

I agree. No other signs that indicate stroke. Anxiety is a beast.

I wake up with tingling on my feet to start with then my hands first thing in the morning then the heart palpitations starts and it last almost all day now, I starting to feel like I don't want to be around anymore again, I have no life.

Hey Susan512, if you don’t mind me asking but aside from tingling when waking up, have you also woken up with numb hands, fingers or any other body parts? That has happened to me and I read it’s part of anxiety. But just curious if you have gone through it too.

Hi Robby, YES every morning when I wake up My flesh is shaking, my chest feels tight, my whole body feels very fatigue no energy and it last pretty much all day, I get some relief late afternoon or early evening 😞

I know how it feels to wake up already uneasy and it is very irritating. What do you usually do to calm it?

Eating breakfast seems to help a little, but that's about it, I continue to have the crazy feeling in my body, I try to keep busy today by doing some going shopping, post office, got my car wash and even cook dinner but I end taking 20 mg of Diazepam any way, fell asleep just to wake up feeling nervous , I'll be up for awhile. I take 20 mg of Citalopram and 300 mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day for almost 8 weeks now with no relief, I'm going to up my Citalopram to 30 mg and see if it helps if not I have to see a doctor and change the medication, I trying not to see the doctor because I have to pay 6,000 dollars out of pocket before I can be covered 80 percent 😞
