Hi all,

I have just joined here today, in an attempt to get some support with how i have been feeling lately...

i have felt so low and have never experienced it before.. a few life events have spiralled me into feeling so low and anxious. I overthink and worry about everything constantly.. so much so that it consumes me at night and i can't sleep properly. I worry about all the bad that might happen, or if i have upset someone etc etc all sorts of things.. i have been crying most days and not wanting to do anything that usually brings me joy..

I just want to get back to myself and learn to cope with life better..

Hi. Welcome to our little home away from home on here. I'm sorry you feel the way you do and are dealing with all the concerns in your life. It sounds like it's a difficult time for you; and not being able to sleep well can certainly make things seem a lot worse than it is. Maybe everything seems to be collapsing onto you at once, and you feel overwhelmed, or something bad that's happened in one aspect of your life is now spilling into other areas. Perhaps, you could garner some support from the people close to you right now; friends, family, your doctor...etc. Let them know how you are getting on. Reaching out to people during these tough times of need is very important. Glad you're on here

No need to worry, mojoseeker, your nervous system is responding in a perfectly normal way to those "few life events" you mention.

They have set your nerves on edge and when this happens it can affect the way we think and our perception of the world around us.

A sensitised nervous system can make small worries and concerns appear as major threats to our well being. We start to obsess about things that normally wouldn't bother us. Feeling low is the usual reaction to all this.

Time is a great healer...so long as you don't get stuck in a vicious circle of bad feelings causing fear causing more nervous sensitisation causing more bad feelings.

Just accept this is a temporary phase you are going through, accept the bad thoughts for the moment. No need to fear them as they can do you no permanent harm.

You cannot change what has happened, the past is the past. Agree to live with the bad thoughts for the moment, do not fight them as this only creates more stress and tension. Don't stay home moping: blue skies and the natural world act like a tonic.

You will recover before long and the joy of life will assert itself once more.

I'm sorry you are going through this friend. This is a great place to "talk out"your feelings. If you're surrounded by negativity you won't find it here. Look it this as journalling with a positive response! So glad you're here! Good karma!
