Can someone try to help me understand anxiety? THe reason for my question is I’m having a really hard time connecting my symptoms to anxiety. I’ve been dealing with this for over 6 years on and off. But lately it’s really taken a toll on me. The symptom I need help with is “ heart palpitations”. Witch I have gone online 100 of times and pretty much heart palpitations have been linked to anxiety for years. But the word “heart palpitations” is a pretty broad word. When I see people post about it i perceive it as they can feel their own heart beat witch is really normal. But what I’m feeling and asking about is more of a “skipped beat-pause-flutter-thud(those really scare me) and hard beats that come in a row. So I’m hoping someone can relate and give me some clarification.
Thank you very much!

First and foremost, see a cardiologist to rule out heart disease of any kind. Next, from personal experience and therapy, anxiety relates to fear. Somewhere in you there's fear of something. It can stem from childhood to now or any random time. It took me a while to understand that fear can be a deeply imbedded mental state that I wasn't even aware of. Large or small, fears can cause so many problems. A tip that sounds a little cliche' or silly is to close your eyes, take a deep breath in, and a slow breath out. Do it 3 times. It can be done almost anywhere. At first I thought, how can this work?? Well, it has helped in so many cases when I caught myself being anxious. It works physically and mentally. I hope all this helps! Hope to hear from you again.
I had ekg-echocardiogram-chest x-ray-blood work and 2 week heart monitor witch came back normal... well they seen what they call pvc/pac and a rare SVT episode in witch the cardiologist said all is normal and nothing to worry about. Witch I can’t see how that’s true.. I know I need to believe them but it’s not easy
The hard beats that come in a row are probably more detrimental. Over the internet not using a stethoscope it sound like an irregular sinus rhythm. The hard beats in a row are what needs to be checked on. If you haven’t had an ECG you need one. Explain the rhythms just like you did. Some of this is from stress/anxiety. It can be eating habits or exercise habits. It can be genetics. I take my meds every day for the thuds. Go talk to your doctor. You don’t have to let that keep going on.

Interesting question. Heart palpitations occur frequently if you are deficient in potassium, magnesium & calcium. Vitamin D deficiency also can aggravate it. I would have a blood test for those minerals + vitamin D (iron too) and see what's going on. You're numbers should be higher than just barely within the norms. Barely withing the norms on these minerals can be masking any number of disorders and problems...
Have your bp checked too. FYI: Deficiencies of these minerals lead to guess what? Anxiety, depression and possible panic attacks!
Artwithin is right too. Have your heart checked along with pulse and heart rate. These things are all clues to problems with nutritional deficiencies. Let's not be in a hurry to get out the drug pad and instead try something a little less risky. You can always try drugs later. Right?
