Hi Rajlover, I honestly had to look up the medication name since it wasn't familiar to me.

Ironically, I realized it was the name given to this medicine that I'm on as well in the U.S.

Apparently the UK calls Lexapro under a different name.

I can only tell you by my own experience with this medication in that I find it a great

relief from Anxiety, however it is an SSRI drug for Depression that also has benefits

with GAD. (generalized anxiety disorder)

Since we are all different in how we react to a med, I would advise you to start it on

a weekend or whenever you are off work for a couple days. There is a break in period

for these medications being 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy. Give or take a week or two

difference. A little more if the dosage is upped during that time.

Always keep your doctor updated on your symptoms and any concerns you may have.

I wish you luck on this medication. Keep us updated as well. We care. :) xx

Rajlover, that is up to your doctor as to how long you take it.

I was scared as well but I tried it and it has worked for me.

Please let your doctor know if you are afraid to take it.

Maybe they can talk you through your concerns. My best to you :) xx

Hi Rajlover, I am on that medication..started with a 5mg dose and then increased the dose to 10 mg in the next two weeks. for me it took a good 8 weeks time to show the desired results. As Agora1 mentioned, give the med time to work on you. there will be minor side effects initially..but they all will subside soon.. given the benefit the med gives the side effects are minor and you can try to ignore them...

Wishing you fast recovery and prayers are with you

Hello! Go ahead and take it. I was like you till I felt better. I prefer to take it at night the first 2 months as it has some side effects but you will be fine. Just be patient and it will work well I hope. Good luck!
