Here I go again. I have retreated to the couch in the den, waiting for the melatonin pill to kick in. I have asked my Dr for a prescription sleeping pill, but he is reluctant. I mentioned why I retreat to the den in a reply to another post on here. I don’t want my spouse to suffer lack of sleep because I can’t sleep.

Another sleepless night
Is there anything in particular you're worrying about, which is keeping you from sleep?
For me, I found that when I was kept from sleeping due to anxiety, melatonin was never quite enough to overcome my active brain :/
At these times, when my anxiety was the worst, I sometimes also got anxious about the fact that I couldn't sleep.
But eventually, after a few days, I was so tired that the natural impulse took over.
Nowadays, my problems with sleep are more on the side of waking up too early.
Do you ever sleep or nap during the day?
I don’t know why he is so reluctant. I’ve been on Ambien for years and my doctor has never given me a hassle about it. Ambien is perfectly safe If not abused. Is this doctor the only one you can go to?
Yes, I only have one Doc. I did ask one time at a walk in clinic, and they referred me back to my regular Doc.
Do you see a psychiatrist? Or a GP for meds.
Sleep is so important I'm surprised they won't give you something.
To be honest, I've been prescribed everything for sleep and nothing worked. I can fall asleep but can't stay asleep.
I understand moving to the couch. I'm up and down so many times during the night. I never end out where I started. I will end out on the couch or in another bed. I hate tossing and turning while my husband is trying to sleep.
My dr said it’s one of the best sleep meds to take if you have to take something that’s what she thinks is best. You can order them online without a prescription.
I’ve had a script filled in my cupboard for over a year but I hate taking meds so just keep putting up with the insomnia I’ve been suffering from for 10 years 😩 I will start taking them!
I am going to ask my Doc again. I really do consider sleep important to handling my anxiety. Thanks to all on this site.
