I just increased a med that might help. I need to believe right now. In something hopeful. I’m very upset and feeling like never before and I just am struggling so hard I feel will I ever get my senses or myself back.

I know I’ve been on a lot and I really appreciate every one of you for being here for me. I will be there for you too.

Do you understand? I’ve never experienced this before. I feel like my mind is troubled non stop.

in reply toStarrlight

It’s why we’re all here. We understand. A lot of us have been where you are. Same, boring advice. Breathe. Trust your body is all fine and it’s the anxiety. Don’t fight it but try to look at it in a detached way. X

I am but no one to help me. I don’t know what they’d do anyway but reassure. So many have tried to reassure me.

in reply toStarrlight

It's 3. 30 am here. Did not realise you were coming off 4 drugs at once. What advice did you have as certain drugs might each have a different type of withdrawal symptoms. Do you think you could write each one down to see what recommendations are for each one. You could put out a post about coming off multi drugs at the same time and finding out from other members how they found it. Do you have a good doctor to check with as you need help with this from a qualified pharmacist and doctor . No one is the same. You are so brave but to have side effects like this sounds very hard to cope with. I thought may be you would be advised to lessen each drug according to what aspect of the problem is decided by your g.p. Drinking plenty of water and eating high energy foods might help.

It's feed back from people who understand how you feel. Know you like healthy foods so expect you include vitamin B5 which has enzymes to help process nutrients when there are blocked cell pathways. Very good for autoimmune diseases.Might be useful for brain fog. Will let you know in ten years time if the brain fog disappears if I remember.

Ha. Was worried about my grandson's allergies but found that B5 can help with allergies and with growth hormone. It is also a key player to help depression and anxiety. I will have to have avocados everyday and mushrooms but it is not in high enough levels in many foods especially for kids. Hope I won't be up all night looking for more info. Thanks for support.

Finding information at 3am in the morning helped to calm my nerves to find ways to help food intolerances through taking vitamin B5 . As many vitamin tabs may have citric acid in them which can upset people with stomach acid am looking for an easy supplement in food which has loads of B5 and the info from website has some really interesting information . If you think it might be of interest to other folks on the site send a smiley. Hope you slept a bit better after adjusting your meds. Well done.

in reply toStarrlight

Do you decrease your doses by quarter of a tablet per week? Some people take their reduced doses on alternate days. Do you think you could write a post on help with the drugs you are on and how to reduce the dose? There must be so many friends and folk who have experienced the same symptoms and know how to space out doses.

Starrlight profile image
Starrlight in reply to

I went off the benzos cold turkey and I ended up not weaning off Zyprexa after all but if I had I was planning on going down 5 mg at a time for a few months each lowered dose with help of my psychiatrist

in reply toStarrlight

Yeah! Psychiatrists don't take the tablets ...most don't have much info on pharmacology so your pharmacist would be able to help. Your weight per kilogram may determine how to lower the dose. Good feedback from other sites such as thyroid unlocked . There is a consultant who might able to help who is a member of the site. Did you have a thyroid test sometime ago?

Just typed "Guides to tapering of olanzipine" an easy site to check. Hope it helps.

Starrlight profile image
Starrlight in reply to

I couldn’t get to the sight through the link.

in reply toStarrlight

If you type guide to tapering olanzipine the website should come up with the same title. It gives charts and details on each drug and how drugs differ in his they affect you if withdrawn. Your drug is very difficult to get off so needs supervision. If in doubt please ring your GP over the dose as you should not be experiencing these symptoms. You deserve a check . It is the failure of staff not knowing info about drug withdrawal as they should go on courses to update.

Have been over eating so have set off IBS..don't feel awesome rather a greedy cow. I started the dog yesterday with some chocolate ice cream to die for. I have my just desserts! I will wobble my way through tomorrow and stop eating oat biscuits and jam. Night night. x You are the star..

It's the only thing that works an d feel better and less dizzy today. It's taken ages to pack for holiday am so slow.washed a cardi by hand it dried outside the found a yummy stain and had to wash it again. Chat tomorrow hopefully. Take care.

in reply toStarrlight

Hope you are better today. Expect you will adjust your meds. The one you mentioned takes 8 weeks not six. Weather here great.

Starrlight profile image
Starrlight in reply to

Thank you. But I had a worse day. Just barely hanging on. Are you well?

in reply toStarrlight

Fine today. So sorry you felt so wobbly. Was it because you just rested did not or eat drink much ? May be drinking cold water will wash away some toxins. Do your legs feel weak and trembly? If you have a nurse to visit or are over a certain age a district nurse might come out to see you. I know you need to eat sugar and comfort foods to get some energy. Drinking lucozade might help even if is glucose . Those slim fast drinks are living you nutrients in a drink. Your are not slimming. A home visit would be helpful from your doctor . Otherwise you could get someone to take you to minor injuries unit as this will help . No appointments needed open till 11am. Decreasing in 5mg doses sounds too high to me and decreasing by less than a gram will be better. If you are a member of thyroid unlocked there is a member who knows about meds and how to use them their name is Thyroidnomore .You can mention you are decreasing meds and you are on other drugs you don't know if your thyroid is stable at the moment as you are weaning off the drugs. Please ask for help as this journey is not easy.

Hello again, Starr

Your life matters to others—

including your family members or friends who may already have expressed concern for you. People who care also include some whom you may never have met. This is evident here.

There is nothing to be ashamed of if you suffer from an emotional illness—any more than if you suffered from a physical illness.

In fact, depression has been called “the common cold of the mind.” Anxiety is even more common. But it can be treated.

REMEMBER: It's usually not possible to climb out of such deep despair by yourself. With help, however, you can succeed.

GOD sends help in many ways. Our hands are "tied" but His Shoulders are broad and strong. Let this sink in. Repeat. You ask for hope. Here it is :

Read Jeremiah 29:11. :)

This weekend can be the first really happy one for you <3

S, I slept 11 hours or I would have been there for you. My fondest hope is that you get off all of the drugs one day. But, you have to do it in a slow and controlled manner. Use magnesium citrate to help calm you down during this time. Take 1 dose 3 to 4 times daily. You can take 3 and save the 4th for when you are feeling at your worst. A powdered form called 'Calm' works best for this purpose. I have had many people tell me this is a godsend to them. It's a statistical fact that 60 to 80% of all people are magnesium deficient. This will help you to sleep too. A dose of it + 3mg of melatonin are extremely helpful to your sleep effort.

But, mostly, I just worry about you and wish I was actually there so I could help you directly. I would sit up around the clock with you until we got through this together if I was able too. I will keep sending you my love, hope and best wishes. I'll pray for you even more. You are not alone. Keep writing all you need to. You can also pm me whenever you need me. Okay?

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply toJEG325

Great advice! But unfortunately even one dose of Calm can give me horrible migraines. I so hoped Calm would help me sleep. It has happened repeatedly, so I do know it is the Calm. Bummed about it!

JEG325 profile image
JEG325 in reply toPearl67

I don't use the 'Calm' myself. I use magnesium citrate in gelcap form. It is a much smaller and more controlled dose. Each gelcap is 125 mgs of magnesium. The only problem I have ever had with it is that if I go to 4 per day, it sometimes causes me to run to the bathroom. But, 3 per day works well, with an occasional 4th one when needed. I recommended the 'Calm' for my awesome friend because I thought she might need a higher dose to help her. I usually recommend people starting with 1/2 dose of 'Calm' up to 3 times daily, only gradually increasing to a full dose 2 to 3 times daily. But, some people never need more than a half dose at a time, which is good and more economical. Thanks for responding!

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply toJEG325

Great advice! I will try 1/2 dose and see! I know I need magnesium, but the headaches are awful! Just awful! Causes vomiting. I am trying Magnesium Threonate, which I am liking so far! Google it. It is interesting and helpful for mental health!

JEG325 profile image
JEG325 in reply toPearl67

Interesting. This is cutting edge new info. How much do you take and what it the amount of magnesium in each dose. Is it gelcap, capsule or tablets? I'm very interested.

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply toJEG325

I take a capsule from Doublewood. I got it after much research. Many in my thyroid group use it as well. I have had early success. Praying it continues. I am up late tonight because of friends visiting, but I notice it makes me sleepy! I take one or two capsules. You can take up to 4, but with medicine, a little bit goes a long way with me!

It is 2,000-4,000 mg depending on how many you take with a total elemental mag of like 144mg.

JEG325 profile image
JEG325 in reply toPearl67

Per capsule?

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply toJEG325

1,000 per

JEG325 profile image
JEG325 in reply toPearl67

Is the 144 also per?

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply toJEG325

Pretty sure that is the total if 2 capsules are consumed.

JEG325 profile image
JEG325 in reply toPearl67

My research indicates that it is per 3 capsules. Like I said I already ordered it and I'm gonna give it a try. I'll start with 1 per day, mixing it with 2 mag citrate per day and I'll gradually increase until I'm taking the 3 per day to replace the 3 mag citrate per day that I take. I hope it's a good as I read....

Agreed. I don't reach out with the info on vitamins like I used to because the anti-vitamin crowd on this site are loud and obnoxious. I got so much flack for my pro-vitamin posts that I quit posting it right away. I only treat my problems with vitamins, supplements, diet and lifestyle changes and that is not popular with the pro-drug group. But, I have 20+ years experience in the vitamin/supplement field having probably tried over a hundred different things in that time. I usually only report about stuff I tried so i can answer questions about it first hand. However that wasn't good enough for some people. So, I more or less stopped putting that part of me out there. But, thanks for your timely info. I hadn't ran across the info on this newer supplement yet and I'm eager to try it....

Read my posts about those troubling thoughts. Let them trouble you. They mean nothing so learn to let them go. They will sting but It’s just anxiety creating them. Trying to calm of control them has no effect. To recover, you have to let them thoughts run riot. It’s just anxious energy being released and needs to be released. It’s the way the mind and body recovers so the less resistance you put up against those thoughts, the better. Otherwise, you are impeding your own recovery. The important thing to remember is that the thoughts are just that. Thoughts. Thoughts created by your anxious mind.

THOSE THOUGHTS THAT BOTHER YOU SO MUCH WILL NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU RECOVER SO DON’T GIVE THEM THE RESPECT AND ATTENTION THEY NEED TO KEEP COMING.
