Ok so I’ve been through this before but they have came back with a vengeance. Does anxiety really cause heart palpitations???? I just can’t believe it. I mean how? I’m totally relaxed when all of a sudden BAM my heart starts to skips beats, or one hard thud!! That make me almost jump out of my shoes. Any one else going threw the same problem? I’ve been to my primary dr and says it’s anxiety I’ve been to the hospital and they say it’s anxiety I’ve been to a cardiologist and she also said anxiety... I’ve hade blood work-ekg-echocardiogram-X-ray and 2 week Zio patch that caught 1 episode of 9 beat SVT, pvcs and pacs witch the cardio said I have nothing to worry about. I know I know I should listen to my drs but I just can’t seem to believe what they tell me.

Believe them. You will live in fear if you don't. The tests you listed are reliable, they wouldn't all miss a problem. Having anxiety doesn't mean you are nervous all the time. Anxiety can hit when you have a certain thought or something evokes a memory . You could have a food trigger or a particular smell.. Palpations are caused by anxiety, but also other things such as a lack of sleep, or exercise etc. You could keep a written journal for a few weeks and see if you can discover a pattern Pam

I was told this at 16 years old almost exactly the same to your story..... I’m now 27 years old....to 1 1/2 years ago finding out I had svt... to then finding out I had two different types had an ablation in January because it become very frequent now it’s worse than before and need another in October you know your own body. I’ve been back and fourth to the docs over 10 years and was told “anxiety” yes it was health anxiety over something that was happening and no one would listen!! I have bad anxiety because of my heart & a lot of people experience anxiety with heart problems. Have you worn a monitor which can record for a couple of weeks to see if u can catch anything on there.

Yes I wore a heart monitor twice once they never called back on. That was 7 years ago and then just last month recently that I had a very short run of SVT and that I should not worry about. It lasted 6 seconds it was a run of 9 beats. It showed pvc/pacs as well but again the cardio said my heat is fine and that my symptomatic symptoms are from anxiety

Yes, anxiety does causes heart palpitations. I had a panic attack in August and they said I had heart palpitations from anxiety. There is nothing wrong with my heart that would cause this. However, if you do have heart problems, an anxiety disorder is not a good thing to have. So while you should believe your doctors and the tests they performed, it might be helpful to get a professional opinion on your anxiety, since it is clearly causing you such anguish. And if you still feel they have missed something, you can always get a second opinion at another medical facility. Good luck.
