I’m not quite understanding and I’m sorry. Are you already falling for some reason? Is this all you heart or body? Help me understand please.
Sorry ment sleeping lol. Think it's just me with my bad ears x
So as you’re falling asleep your body jumps and sometimes your heart feels like it races? This can be quite normal. Myoclonic jerks in this stage of sleep happen for a variety of reasons. It could be a medication but if you’re a busy person it’s your muscles releasing the last of the ‘awake’ transmitters. (Very simplistic.)
You’d still want to let your doctor know your sleep is in this stage.
Yes am on no medication. X
My mind's always in over drive also. Health anxiety so be all the stress aswell. Also with the tingling in hands and feet. It's all go x
Are you in the 25-40 age range, female, and busy? That’s the most common group of people with myoclonic jerks. That’s not to say I didn’t go through a time at 50 working 60 hours a week with teens at home and working on a Masters. I had them bad for about 6 months. Your brain is trying to tell your body to rest but your muscles have built up transmitters. Try a gentle walk or swim, even brief yoga or stretching. Heavy exercise is not good for us.
simply put... its your muscles going to sleep. you are so pent up and on edge all day long anxiety is always high. so going to sleep is the only time you "really" get to relax.
it's your muscles shutting down. and your brain entering "sleep mode"
I can't recall the exact scientific explanation for this...
basically it's your brain getting ready to sleep. it's kinda shutting down all the auxiliary systems to enter hibernation mode. and then that good REM sleep to recharge the power cores. (we are video games)
I wake up in a panic sometimes, feeling like I'm dying. I think it's actually sleep apnea and my airway is closing off, though, because it doesn't happen in some positions. Can you set up a camera to record yourself falling asleep and see if your waking is preceded by snoring? My last girlfriend had it bad, she would snore loudly and then choke herself awake multiple times every night, but she just immediately fell back asleep and wasn't panicked by it.
I get many weird things happen when falling asleep ie jumping, gasping for breath and panicking, which I put down to high anxiety. Others here have explained the reasons very well, which have helped me understand it.
