Can you take a multivitamin and a iron vitamin at the same time?

I think a pharmacist would be your best source of information for this question.

If you need the average amount of iron it should be in a multi so I wouldn't add iron since it could cause problems if you take too much. Check with your doc to see if you are iron deficient and need more than usual.

It isn't a good idea to take either.

Supplements should only be used if found to be defficient.

Ask your doctor for blood tests to check some nutrients levels, in particular : Vitamin D; B12 & Folate, also Ferritin. Ask for FBC (CBC?) - a Full Blood Count.

Why would you want to take iron tablets if you are not suffering ftom Iron deficiency Anemia?

Iron tablets can be harmful, cause constipation, can cause hard black stools. It's healthier to get iron from diet.

Best to eat foods containing iron alongside fresh orange juice to assist with the absorption of iron. Some people take a Vitamin C tablet , but I wouldn't know which to recommend.

I read that smoking and alcohol deplete 'B' Vitamins. It's generally believed to be safe to take Vitamin C tablets and Vitamin B complex tablets at low doses daily as they are water soluble. But I've also read that some of the B Vitamins are stored in the body - B9 and B12. And high levels of B9 are not good.

So it's advisable to have a discussion with your doctor first and run some tests, especially if there are any symptoms or if there is an absorption issue. First example, anyone with IBS or IBD, anyone taking a PPI such as Lansoprazole or Omezprazole. So get some tests and have any deficiencies treated.

Because I have bad panic disorder. I'm physically and mentally drained Mary x

Floradix multi vitamins and mineral tablets are helpful. Found mine at Boots.

Have you checked all the ingredients?

It's just that we shouldn't really take Vitamins that we don't need. Some contain high doses too.

I take it you can't eat properly at the moment?

Food don't intrest me. But when I have a panic attack and go weak. I tend to grab summit to eat x

When I can't eat I drink Pepsi and buy a bag of Fox's Glacier Mints and Fox's Glacier Fruits. We need the glucose. The peppermint oil is good for the digestive tract.

You could also get some blackcurrant Diarolyte sachets. One sachet in a cup of water will help a lot when you feel weak. If you buy the plain ones they'll taste salty but the blackcurrant flavoured taste ok.

It's really electrolytes we need when not eating.

Do you drink plenty of water?
