Hi, I'm new here.I'm struggling with anxiety and depression.Therapy , meds, and my hobby of dancing Tango help, but something has triggered an onset of frequent anxiety, particularly on the weekends. When I found this site, I wanted to join because sharing helps. Thanks for being there. Would love some tips on how to handle an anxiety attack when home alone and therapist is not available.

Hi Tanguera -
I'm so sorry to hear your are struggling. I am too. Do you have health anxiety or perhaps you fear you have done something or will do something 'wrong'? Would love to chat more with you.
P.s. I don't see anyone in an orange dress on the photo....
Thanks so much for your post.I think you're onto something.about doing something wrong. Oh, I changed the photo. I'm now on the lanai, waving. How do you cope when you're very anxious? How kind of you to care.
Lovely pic and how very nice to meet you. Coping has been very, VERY hard recently. I'm crying all the time, having panic attacks and feel I can't go on. I'm trying all the techniques I learned in therapy a few years ago and they just aren't working. My therapist said my increased dosage of meds should start working soon (I increased my dosage of Zoloft 1 week ago) but because I'm so panicked the thought Reformation process doesn't work. All I've been able to do is tell myself - this is OCD and I will get better. It helps maybe 5% of the time and the rest of the day I'm ruminating and trying to rationalize. I'm barely eating and throwing up. I wake up with a panic attack and all day I just look forward to when I can go to sleep and shut my brain off. I had to take time off work and I can't even enjoy being with my kids. My husband has dealt with this with me for a very long time and while he is frustrated (he says I'm making things up in my head, in which he's right) he's supportive. I'm so very lucky for that!
Sorry for going on. What are you doing to cope?
Also wanted to share this article my friend sent me. She is a music therapist. It helps to ground you during moments of anxiety. Hope it helps you!

The article did help. I will print it out. You've been such a help. Many thanks. i hope the Zoloft kicks in very soon and that you cam enjoy your life. I cope with meds, therapy, facebook posts, and dancing the Argentine Tango. My husband was very understanding, but I'm widowed now. Once again, many thanks. Sharing with you has eased my current anxiety attack. Sending a hug.
Thank you so much as well. Knowing we aren't alone is always a help to me. I'm saying a prayer for all of us on this board as this is debilitating.
