You can definitely ask, but it all depends on the doctor and your insurance. If you haven't been to the doctor for a long time then they will probably start with listening to your symptoms and ordering blood work.

Thanks bec, well I know for starters I have hypertension stage 1, but I really struggle with remembering certain things

Short term memory loss and absentmindedness can be a part of depression and anxiety. Especially if you feel overwhelmed.

Oh and the brain fog. I hate having brain fog. It then triggers my anxiety about thinking it could be something dooming. It's a vicious cycle.
