Same feeling on a new night

Here again. I want to just walk around all night or tear up the room to get the inside feeling out. How is it that every obvious drug abuser gets medical help yet someone at the end of his work week just has to deal with it?!?!

Right!!! I don’t understand why we have to struggle, without assistance. Seems only way to get help if to completely fall apart in one way or another.

Yes I get how you are feeling. I tried to get NHS counselling a few years ago but after a couple of assessments I was turned down. It seems being suicidal and at the end of my rope wasn't enough for them. It's not fair.

I thought then that everyone else is more important than me and maybe coz of my age I didn't count. x

I guess communities are better served to keep junkies healthy enough so they can get more tattoos and piercings and clean needles or fat stupid Walmart families happy so they can have 14 more kids.

This seems massively judgemental to me.

It’s easy to blame a stereotype but your post implies that drug users (often people self medicate out of desperation at not receiving adequate mental health treatment) are not deserving of support. And the fat Walmart kids?? Instead of feeding into the constant attacks on working class people perhaps we should be using our energy more positively. Just a thought.

Would it be more appropriate to label them all victims? I work in healthcare so perhaps from where I’m standing I’m severely biased. I just find it fascinating that in a small community obvious drug abusers with criminal histories are getting more assistance than productive members of society who actually have a hand in helping them Day in and day out.

I just think we should be pushing for adequate support for all rather than blaming the governments lack of provision on others who are suffering.

I work in social services directly with adults who suffer from both drug addictions and mental health problems (the 2 are often combined) so I’m probably severely biased also, but coming at it from a different angle.

If nothing else I find it extremely comforting to know we can have differing opinions and not devolve into online ranting. That’s not what I want from this site and I have no agenda/political interests to espouse I just need a place to voice my particular place with my particular issues as there’s no place for it in my life here.
