I’ve just heard a podcast by Drew That Anxiety Guy that was titled as above. He states that yes anxiety is physical but the disorder is cognitive because it’s how we think about our symptoms how we fear them and how we interpret them! What do you guys think? This really resonated with me because it’s my thinking around things that can make my day horrific when I believe all the thoughts that come through my mind.

Anxiety is Physical, Anxiety disorder is cognitive!
I agree with this. Although it is so hard when you are in your deepest thoughts of anxiety to see it this way.
I agree with this based on all my study and experience. Another way to say it would be that stress is physical and natural, but anxiety is mental and under our control. Stuff just happens in the outside world and in our bodies. We aren't in control of that. But how we interpret and react to it makes all the difference. I'm learning about chronic pain right now. You'd think "pain is pain," but not so. Our mental state and the context makes all the difference in whether we really suffer from physical pain or let it go as just another ache that will likely disappear in an hour or two.
That’s true. Have you ever read the book The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer? It’s an amazing book, he said we can see the world around us and feel things like stress chronic pain etc, but we have a voice in the head that narrates everything for us
