I've been reading terrible reviews on Paxil but thats what my doctor prescribed. BTW, I'm not depressed. I just have high anxiety (especially at night) dealing with a physical issue (that I'm taking medication for). Does anyone have any positive experiences with Paxil?

Paxil for anxiety
Just putting this out there for you. I believe there is a test that can actually test you for which meds might be the best for you specifically. I can’t remember the name off hand. Gene something. Anyway. Just giving you some info.
I have been on Paxil for a long time. I told my doctor the same thing, that I wasn't really depressed. The way he explained it to me was, that it has anxiety medicine in it and my anxiety would or could eventually cause me depression. Also, they will put you on it for you moods. Anxiety can definitely affect your mood and Paxil is a medicine they use for mood changes as well. It really is a good medicine to help with anxiety, however, it can cover different things as well as anxiety. Hope this helps
Hi, I took Paxil for depression and moderate anxiety and it actually helped me very much. It took about two to three weeks to notice the difference in my mental state, but I went through a big change. I didn't have any adverse effects while taking it, but I have quit it cold turkey after four months or so and that was a big mistake. The withdrawal symptoms were unpleasant and quite unlike anything I have felt before. Apparently, I could have avoinded that by I tapering off slowly instead of just quitting it. In all, I would discuss with your doctor in great detail what are the side-effects that you might have and how soon should you report any symptoms that might worry you. My doctor actually told me to message her twice a week for the first three weeks I was taking it.
