Lady In The Mirror

I hope u guys can relate to this, this is a poem I wrote about the mask I feel I have to wear so everyone around will accept me.....and not think I’m crazy, I hope u enjoy!

Your eyes burn into mine

And I start to realize

The dull soul that hides

Your facade was so well crafted

True self hidden behind your action

Stuck inside your mind held captive

A mask your wear from day to day

But never seem to break away

But now it’s time to turn away

Ignore the issue another day

One last glance at the mirror

Before the stranger disappears

Before the stranger disappears. That, I really like. It seems so often that I am loosing myself when I am depressed. Good poem.

That's the truth. We do wear a mask. I want to be the me I was before the mental problems presented after retirement. The real me, not the person I don't recognize in the mirror.

Do you write poetry often? Very creative, good for the soul and personal improvement to learn about yourself.

Motivational writings are my genre. Also I was teaching how to write classes, to seniors for a couple of years. Poets need a class devoted to that genre.
