Mirtazapine - 10 weeks in - tinnitus and anxiety, muscle pain - help please, my Psych is useless

Hi

been on this baddie for 10 weeks now. started on 15mg but was way too stimulating (had knee shakes for weeks) so am now on 3/4 of a tablet.

Things have gotten better but my tinnitus is worse, my vision is still very dodgy (cloudy patches in the distance and some blurring, more floaters ), and I have muscle pains, and worst of all I still feel anxious pretty much most of the time and have the most terrible feeling that I'm not really here at all (depersonalisation?) , it's all rather scary. So basically anxiety is worse on Mirtazapine.

My psych/the NHS have been rather useless in helping me with this, reckon it all up to me i can just stop Mirtazapine if I like ... that would be dangerous I think? , they don't seem to offer any alternative suggestions.

Need some advice on tapering off it further (10% per month? how do I do that with the 15mg tablets?) or adding in something else or swapping to something else.

I thought I could maybe add in Lamicatal (for anxiety) or switch to Cymbalta by tapering down the Mirt and tapering up the Cymbalta (I have long QT syndrome so a lot of the first line treatments arent allowed!)

Seeing a private Psychiatrist but not for another month!

hi I tapered off 45mg a few month ago down to the smallest dose.my last week was terrible as I had no sleep what so ever.i have similar experiences to you its terrible sometimes but I feel the docs don't really care about the come down effects.
