Hello, I hope you’re reading this I’m good health.

It’s been about 2 years since I initially made an account here. I was really going though a tough point in my life. Didn’t have any real friends, didn’t know where I was going professionally and host of other things.

Can’t say things have changed all that much on the surface but I will say my outlook on my life and future has dramatically improved. I understand myself a little more and what I want out of life. I don’t necessarily get anxious anymore, it’s more like I start to realize when I’m in my own head and I quickly jerk myself out of it and am able to hold conversations without too much of a problem.

A lot of self reflection and self improvement has helped me along the way. Instead of just being sad and wallowing in my own sadness, I proactively have tried to work on my self through physical fitness, hygiene, finances and a tad bit more social and talkative in situations where I normally wouldn’t say anything. It hasn’t all been perfect but I feel like I’m moving in the right direction and that’s all I could really hope for.

Thanks for reading 👍🏾

Hi lilsaddude, it's nice to hear updates from our members. It's all about learning more

about ourselves as well as our mental health issues. It takes time but well worth the

outcome. It sounds like you found the right path in going forward. Continued success.

One day at a time will get you there. Thanks for sharing your journey :) xx

Thanks for sharing this, I too am dealing with depression-lost my job last month due to disability discrimination (no family around to help) but I am looking for another one and I don't feel as bad as I did before. I am reminding myself to stay positive, diligent and to applaud my efforts. I know something better will turn up.

Thanks for your post. I really hope time can make it all a little more bearable. I’ve been keeping up on fitness and diet. Just need to employ your technique of getting out of my head when I can feel myself sliding down.

Hi.

Congratulations! You're moving in a beautiful direction. I understand completely how you feel so thank you for sharing.

I received a book today that I ordered and started doing the work which has already given me some insight into thoughts and how they make us feel. It's called The Work - Loving what is by Byron Katie and it helps unravel depression and anxiety amongst other things. I'm moving into understanding now which brings me relief.
