10 things a pastor/author did to dig out of crippling anxiety/depression

This post was from Kris Vallotton. He is one of the lead pastors out of Bethel Church in Redding California. Even if you have contrary religious beliefs - he is a very good man and has been through the same fire we face! What if there is a cure? We all function on habits that are more or less invisible. Sometimes driven by years of momentum. I am already doing 5 of these activities every day and it's absolutely changed my life. Its giving me some of my power back. I still am in the process of healing. I still have a ways to go. I'm going to do all of them now though. We can overcome.

Here are ten natural keys I learned that helped to cure my anxiety and depression;

1-do everything you can to get at least seven or eight hours of sleep every night.

2- eat healthy; no sugar or caffeine when your dealing with these issues.

3-exercise daily; make sure that you get your heart rate up when you exercise.

4-get plenty of sunlight.

5- find really funny things to watch.

6- spend time imagining BEST case scenarios.

7- meditate on scripture verses that remind you of God's love for you and His deliverance in your life.

8- force yourself to get out of the house and be with people.

9- don't keep talking about how bad you feel. You can talk yourself to death.

10- celebrate small victories (1 hour of laughter, or a short time you didn't think about how bad you felt), as signs that you are getting well.

Here are three resources (books) that will give you great insights into curing anxiety and depression;

1- From Panic to Power - Lucinda Bassett

2- Who Switched Off My Brain? Caroline Leaf PHD

3- Spirit Wars- Kris Vallotton
