I am just really curious and wish to ask all who have anxiety. Do any of you take medication for it or when you feel one coming on. For about 5 or 6 years I only took a antidepressant. But, found a fantastic Dr who prescribed Lorazepam for my anxiety attacks. I once was put on Xanex. Bad stuff for me. It interacted with my antidepressant and caused a anxiety attack that lasted 2 1/2 months. It was pure hell. But, I ask this question because I see so many speaking about having attacks and dealing with them. Please if you need something ask your Drs. For many years I. The beginning of finding out about my depression and anxiety was never told that there was something out there that would stop my anxiety attack before to cover came me. Good luck

I have a prescription for lorazepam, .5 mg, to be taken as needed. Until about 6 months ago, I only needed maybe once every month or two months.

Then in January, I started a horrible few weeks when I was having several panic attacks a week. I was afraid to overuse it, because my doctor at the time was really concerned about the addictive potential.

But when I went to see her for a meds check and explained the situation, she wrote me a new prescription for more tablets per bottle, and said I could have it if I needed it for a panic attack. I sort of wish I’d seen the doctor earlier in this phase of anxiety. Maybe I could have had some relief all along.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. That is what makes me soooo angry. That someone else has control over your medication. I have heard the addictive speech a number of times. I try to remain calm and explain that I do not get high or even feel I have taken my Lorazepam. It just stops my anxiety attacks. I even had words with a Dr who calmed I should take Klonopin. Now to me that is addictive. Have known 2 people who have been highly addictive. I tried it once and had a horrible time with it. Lucky I have found a Dr. who has no problem renewing my prescription for Lorazepam. He believes me when I tell him I only take it as needed. You almost have to become your in Dr. Only you know what helps and need to stick to your guns. Good luck and bless you.
