I just moved back home from college yesterday. It’s always a hard transition, as big changes are difficult for me. I get existential about the end of every semester, thinking about how fast life seems to move. One of the hardest parts of leaving school is leaving my boyfriend of 3 years. He is my strongest support. He has always been able to talk in ways that help me through my episodes. This summer is especially hard, because there is a strong likelihood that he will be going all the way across the country for an internship. Being so separated will be even harder than the usual hour and a half drive distance apart. In addition to this, my parents, my other strong support, won’t be home for a few more days, leaving me alone in the house. I’ve been crying a lot and I’ve already had two panic attacks since coming home yesterday. I’m at a loss about what to do. Any suggestions for coping are more than welcome.

Not sure I have good suggestions, but just wanted to say it's okay to feel what you're feeling. That's a big transition and transitions are hard. If you have friends nearby, maybe you can make plans with them. If not, phone/text/Facetime? Talking to others, especially folks who won't judge you, might be helpful. Also, you get the house to yourself? Watch TV/movies that nobody else likes? Make popcorn? Make a mess? (But clean it up before they get home.)
There are lots of videos on YouTube related to calming and relaxation. You might also like to watch Dr. Claire Weekes videos there on dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
I have read your other posts, and I hope you are seeking medical help for these problems. I'm sorry your stepfather doesn't understand, or seem sympathetic. A lot of other people on this website have the same problem with their family members.
