Lexapro

Hi! So my boyfriend who suffers from severe anxiety and depression started taking 10 mg of Lexapro 3 weeks ago and the change in him is miraculous..just took his anxiety waaaay down and is relaxed positive and happy ...I'm so excited and happy and...well.. scared that this is a dream come true for both of us but can change...have any of you had these awesome reactions to the meds and then things change or you get side effects at this stage of taking the meds? Please tell me no because I honestly have been praying for this for a long time ...thank you

Lexapro has been fantastic for my daughter. She has been on 15 mg for 2 years... Lexapro, and a lot of therapy She's doing really well. I'm so glad your BF is feeling more calm and positive! Sounds like you are a supportive and loving partner ❤️

Thank you so much for your reply and I'm really happy to hear that it's working so well for your daughter it's good to know that with therapy and this med that he can be in a good place and have a happier life I certainly do try 2 be a positive loving person for him and I appreciate your kind words

Lexapro has really helped with my anxiety and overall quality of life. I also started with 10 mg - after regular check ins with my doctor and adjustments to the dosage, though, I have ended up at 20 mg. I think following up with one’s doctor is important, as well as counseling to address the underlying issue(s). As an aside, my counselor helped me wrap my head around my need for medication: “Some people have diabetes and need insulin, while others have high blood pressure and need medication to control it. You simply have a low seratonin level and need Lexapro to improve it.”
