Hi Cookesp, my Lexapro was increased by 5mg 6 months ago. Looking back

I feel there was a 2 week adjustment period but not bad enough to have remembered.

Good med. Wish you well on the increase. xx

I take Lexapro. I like it but my nose feels swollen like I can’t breathe well. It’s upsetting. I did go off it once and the nasal swelling stoped. I felt like I had more energy. Unfortunately, the more energy also led to more anxiety. Ugh!!!

I’m also supposed to increase it to 10. I’ve being taking 7.5 for a few days.

You too! I haven’t noticed symptoms coming back except maybe anxious the first couple days but it could have been circumstantial.

I have been on Lexepro in the past and I have now restarted it, 2.5 mg for 3 weeks then 5mg for 5 weeks, then 7.5mg for 4 weeks, then 10 mg it’s the only way to stop the increase in anxiety before they kick in, most Doctors just say take 5 or 10 Straight away so yes you will get an incredible increase in anxiety, but it’s only temporary, do it very slowly and you will be ok.

Hi I was on 5mg if lexapro for almost 2years and it really worked for me. Then I had my son and had a very traumatic Birth and recovery. So I was increased to 10 mg. I felt absolutely terrible for a least three weeks . And then it started to work and I felt better but it was short lived and I was told to increase to 20mg. I didn’t agree with that I thought that it would be much too strong. So slowly I started to take 15 mg. And now I have been on that dose for about four months. It really does take a while for everything to settle in for the medication to start working . Looking back now the side effects were are really hectic. But at the end of the day it’s all worth it to feel better and have a normal day to day life. My biggest word of advice is try not to be too scared of the medication and allow yourself the time for it to start working . It will work 🙏
