First day of using Paxil at 10mg. Did a very slow increase this week upping a little each day.
Up and down week, yesterday (day 4) was probably the best day of them all, looking forward to today being good.
Side effects: 2 days increased anxiety, 2 days of intrusive thoughts and worry, 1 day felt too “energetic,” yesterday started out a who knows day, but ended up decent.
I do feel a little “sedated” 5-6 hours after taking.
Hope this helps anyone.

As someone who has taken Paxil for over 30 years, I believe therapy can help more than meds ever will. Of course they told me it was not addictive back in 1994, they know better now. I have been on up to 50 mg. The lowest I I’ve been able to go is 15mg, then the anxiety gets too much and my emotions are up & down although it’s more noticeable to others. I had a time I quit for a month and my daughter and ex told me to take it again. 15-20 years ago I could go without taking it but now I get physically ill- I forgot to put in my pill case (and didn’t notice) after about 4 days I felt extremely ill, nauseous and didn’t figure out why until day 6 - it it just terrible to think that I am physically addicted and can’t go without taking this medication that doesn’t help much. Good luck to you but I don’t recommend. I actually could not stay awake the first week I took it. It is concerning that it made you feel more anxious. Of course the doctor will say you’ll get used to it and keep telling you to take more…
I was off Paxil for nearly 20 years until a few years ago, and this most recent time I think I did the weaning off way too quickly and totally wrong.
While I don’t recall most of the early side effects from initial treatment, I do remember being anxious the first week.
I know it’s a difficult SSRI to disengage from, but I’m trying to do the meds in conjunction with therapy this time. Before, when I finally got better, I didn’t continue therapy.
